As the first contest UOHomeDecor.com and UOForums are hosting together this year, we’ve decided to do a summer themed decoration contest.

Decorators, you can submit anything you want, whether it be a room, an object, or an entire house. The sky is the limi but it should be Summer Themed.

A few rules:
1. The house(s) must be in UO. You cannot use HomeBuilder or any other applications as they contain tiles/items you cannot find in game. You actually need to decorate a home in UO to make this fair to everyone. These homes should be available for staff to visit if requested…meaning this has to be on a real UO Shard, not a freeshard/server.
2. Screenshots HAVE to be of homes in UO. Real life Homes do not apply for this contest. (yes I have received pics like this).
3. You can submit as much as you want, but you can only win once.
4. Any entries received by a different e-mail than the one listed below will be ignored.
5. Late submissions will not be accepted under any circumstances. There are deadlines for a reason.
6. When you post the pictures or e-mail them to me, please include the shard you are on.

To make things easy, we have two ways for you to submit your entries. The first is to post them as attachments on this thread located here.

Alternatively, you can just e-mail me the pics. My email is submissions@uohomedecor.com I’ll edit them down to proper size/dimensions and host them on uohomedecor.com under the Deco Contests menu as well as post them to this thread for everyone to see.

ALL ENTRIES MUST BE RECIEVED NO LATER THAN 11:59 p.m. CDT August 13, 2011.

A panel of judges will decide on the winners. If you are interested in being a judge, please reply to this thread or PM me.

Prizes, provided by Lord Nabin who is sponsoring the contest, are as follows:

1st Place: 15m on production shards
2nd Place: 10m on production shards
3rd Place: 5m on production shards

Prizes may contain additions at a later point, which we will add here if it comes through.

We have joined the 21st Century and went ahead and set up a page on facebook.  If you want to follow us for news updates, they will be posted there via RSS feed as well as information I post there when I can.

If you don’t have facebook, don’t worry.  We will still update here and on UOForums and UO Stratics for contests and other stuff.

Other pages have a few items done here and there but will be noted in a future update when completed. Once all the CNC pages have been imported, I will be doing a redirect from that site to this site so I can remove duplicate content from my server. Also, news posts will alert when new guides have been added to the site as well.

Someone requested that we put pictures next to the lists.  Once all of CNC’s site has been imported into here, I will do so, but will take a wee bit of time to complete.  We will also be posting original guides that are found on UOForums as well as some guides written by EvilPixie on Stratics and Mixels on UOF as well as myself in the near future.

There are a number of fundraisers going on, but there’s one going on that I want to get behind.

High schoolers from the region, which created their own Ottumwa Game Community, have decided to do a nice fundraiser. On June 18, they will clean Main Street in Ottumwa. In return, they are seeking donations, either flat rate or per bag of trash, to raise money for the IVGHOF. So these teenagers are going to do a community service project and all they are asking in return is for donations to help pay off the debt.

I think that’s a damn brilliant idea and a great exchange. You seldom see teenagers get involved in the community and this is dual involvement.

So where am I coming in?  Down below you will find various donation links available for this cause.  The money will come to my paypal then the bulk amount will go to the boys.   You can donate outright to the event and not have me decorate your home, or for various monetary amounts, I will decorate certain amounts of your home. For the max donation, I will decorate a castle.

In addition to this, your home will appear on the Home Tour section as well as the section of homes I’ve decorated on UOHomeDecor and your donation will be recognized here as well.

Donations will be accepted through June 18 and PayPaled to the boys June 19.  Homes will be decorated in the order donations are received.  I may be able to work on a few homes at once, but depending on how many donations are made, it may take a while to get to your home, but I promise, I will.

So I stopped there, purchased the Wii and Donkey Kong Country Returns.  Then headed over to the nearby Gamestop to purchase the Wiimote and Nunchuck bundles (I managed to get two red bundles, one black) and the chargers. Then off to FedExOffice to ship out to Tony.

We purchased guaranteed shipping to get it there by Dec. 22.  It arrived in Tony’s hands on Dec. 20, so way early.  Got home Friday night, ordered the stuffed Donkey Kongs, which are in transit to Tony’s via USPS.

Now the second part of the plan has been completed (items ordered and mostly in Tony’s hands), part three is coming to life with Tony and John from Hard4Games planning to go out to Rylee’s family on Thursday to deliver the presents.  John will be dressed up as Santa to make the event even better.  They will be recording a video of the event for all donators to be able to see.

Donations are still being accepted to achieve the $1,000 raised goal.  WE only need around $240 to meet that goal.
