Desk Stand

This is a relatively simple decor piece that is much like the filing cabinet and other shelving units you can build. This one is usually best built up against a south wall to hide the raw side. You can also put a nice floor decor piece next to it on the south side to help alleviate the raw side of the piece.

This is an east facing piece. It will not work in any other direction because of how the cloth lays.

Items Needed:

  • 3 Writing Tables
  • 2 Folded Cloth (buy from a weaver)
  • 2 Nightshade (optional)
  • 1 Gears (optional)
First step is very easy – stack the 3 Writing tables on top of one another, facing east. If they do not face east when you stack them, use your decor tool to turn them.

You will also have to use your decor tool to lower them down so they are flush against one another as they stack just like a small table would. Once stacked and lowered, you should have something that looks like the image on the right.

You are now ready to add the “top” of your new desk stand. Best practice is to do the “decor” first and raise it into place before putting your 2 cloth down.

This is to prevent anything from dropping under the cloth when you stack, as the cloth will need to be raised 1 level up to fit into place on top of the desks.

For my example, I will place the gears and raise them 2 levels. I will then place the nightshade and raise it 2levels, then place the cloth and raise 1 level.

Always leave the house and return to ensure all pieces remain in their original position.
